Wayne Metro’s Supportive Housing & Homeless Services (SHHS) programs aim to empower individuals and families experiencing or at-risk of experiencing homelessness with the solutions to achieve housing stability and long-term self-sufficiency.

Programs & Services

Wayne Metro offers a variety of programs that assist individuals and families in obtaining and/or maintaining housing as quickly as possible, using the Housing First model. By calling Wayne Metro’s CONNECT Center, families and individuals can be introduced with the services that best meet their identified needs and situation. 

OUTREACH & SHELTER SERVICES

Street Outreach and Homeless Shelter services are available to those in need!

  • Shelter services are available for single and companioned adults who do not have minor children.
  • A quick screening with a shelter monitor is required.
  • Community members with information regarding areas where Street Outreach services may be needed can also contact Wayne Metro to coordinate services for their community.

HANDS-ON CASE MANAGEMENT

Wayne Metro’s Rapid Rehousing, Homeless Prevention, and Permanent Supportive Housing Teams are able to provide eligible households with ongoing case management services to help them:

  • Find housing
  • Find work
  • Apply for SSI/SSDI
  • Access education services
  • Access public benefits
  • Access healthcare services
  • Help to connect individuals to other resources that are available!

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

In addition to case management services, many of the Wayne Metro’s SHHS programs are able to provide financial assistance in the form of:

  • Rent assistance
  • Security deposit
  • Utility assistance

Please note: Due to the requirements and/or limitations of the grants, the amount and type of assistance will vary from program to program.
