What Food Support is Available?

Wayne Metro offers a variety of Food Support programs to individuals and families in Wayne County. Read below for more information about the assistance available to you!

REQUIREMENTS

Senior Food Distribution

  • Must be 60 years of age or older
  • Participate in at least one of the following programs:
  • SNAP, FDPIR, SSI, Low-Income Subsidy Program, Medicare Savings Plan
  • OR must meet income requirements
  • In order to be eligible for delivery through DoorDash:
  • Client must reside within 10 miles of CSFP Pick-Up Location (13660 Stansbury Ave, Detroit MI 48227)

Diaper Distribution

  • Household size 1: monthly $2,608
  • Household size 2: monthly $3,525
  • Household size 3: monthly $4,442
  • Household size 4: monthly $5,358
  • Household size 6: monthly $7,192
  • Household size 6: monthly $7,192
  • For each additional household member, add monthly $917

Meet Up & Eat up

  • Children must be 18 years or younger
  • Adults aged 19-26 with a mental or physical disability
  • Enrolled in a public or private non-profit school program during the school year

Food Distribution Fridays

Wayne Metro hosts Friday Food Distributions alongside multiple community partners throughout Wayne County.

Items available at each distribution include, food staples and non-perishable items/dry goods, fresh produce, personal hygiene products and household cleaning supplies (while supplies last)!

Families First Virtual Marketplace

Wayne Metro has partnered with Atlas Wholesale Foods Co. to offer the families in our network easy access to food and household hygiene items through the Families First Virtual Marketplace.

Summer Food Service Program

Wayne Metro’s Summer Food Service Program, known as Meet Up And Eat Up and the Snack Wagon, runs June through August and is aimed at increasing food access to low-income communities during the summer months in which children aren’t receiving their typical school lunches.
