Wayne Metro’s Regional Advisory Councils (RACs) are comprised of Residential, Organizational, and Consumer community representatives who serve as consumer advisory board members to the Agency.
Regional Advisory Councils are instrumental in vetting and scoring Seeding Wayne County Grant Proposals submitting in their region. RAC Members also make up one-third of the Wayne Metro Board of Directors.
Supporting Wayne County-based organizations that share the common goal of addressing the causes and conditions of poverty in their community.
The Detroit Residents First Fund (DRFF) is a collaborative effort of private foundations, nonprofits and community leaders whose mission is to support those working to improve Detroit’s neighborhoods for those with the least access to power and social capital.
The Neighborhood Beautification Program (NBP) grant provides funding to Detroit-based neighborhood associations, block clubs, faith-based organizations, and non-profit organizations that currently own property or purchase Land Bank vacant lots (up to 4) to carry out a project in their community.
Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency has exciting opportunities available for general contractors, HVAC contractors, and inspection professionals in its Weatherization Assistance Program.
Funding is available for events and/or small scale projects that benefit low-income Wayne County residents and align with Wayne Metro’s mission to eliminate poverty by empowering people and communities to be strong, healthy, and thriving.
