We are excited to share our Summer Engagement Series. Coming June 2026
This June, hear from our Whole Family team about all things summer programming for both kids and the whole family.Â

We are excited to share an important update to our Engagement Series at Wayne Metro.
Hear more about this change directly from our Executive Director in a short video message, where they share why we are evolving the Engagement Series and how this new approach helps us stay connected, accessible, and responsive to our community.
Wayne Metro will transition from our traditional webinar model to a series of short-form videos. These videos will continue to deliver the same trusted information from our team, now in a more flexible and easy-to-access format.
Our goal is to make it easier for community members, partners, and supporters to engage with important topics on their own time, without sacrificing depth or quality.
Did you know you might be able to file your taxes completely FREE this year?
At Wayne Metro Community Action Agency, our Financial Mobility Services, or FMS, program helps families build stability, grow financially, and keep more of what they earn.
Every year, we help thousands of households access tax credits, reduce debt, and move closer to financial security. That’s a big impact for families right here in our community.

If you earned income this year, you should file your income taxes, especially if you want to claim valuable credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit.
At Wayne Metro, we provide FREE tax preparation to eligible households through IRS-certified preparers who walk you through the process from start to finish.
Here’s what you can expect:
– Easy appointment scheduling
– A checklist of documents to bring (photo ID, Social Security cards, W-2s/1099s, last year’s return if available)
– One-on-one support with a certified preparer
– A full review before your return is submitted
Did you know that property taxes support important community services like schools, roads, and emergency response? Property taxes can be a bit confusing, but at Wayne Metro, we help homeowners understand their options and connect to programs that may reduce financial stress. Through the Detroit Tax Relief Fund, eligible Detroit homeowners can receive support completing the HOPE application, which may reduce or even eliminate property taxes for the current year.
Our team walks you through the process step by step:
– Understanding eligibility requirements
– Gathering required documents
– One-on-one application support
– Connections to additional wraparound services if needed
The 2026 HOPE application deadline is November 6, 2026 at 4:30 PM, so now is the time to learn your options.
