Housing & Food Assistance
Wayne Metro offers services to Wayne County residents who are experiencing (or are at risk of) homelessness, and those with limited access to healthy food. Our programs can connect you to emergency shelters, help you find and prepare for employment, assist with rent payments to prevent homelessness, ensure your children receive high-quality education and nutritional meals, and more. Please contact us directly to learn what programs you and your family are eligible to participate in.
Wayne Metro is actively involved in many homeless prevention and housing support efforts. These efforts include our participation in the Out-Wayne County Homeless Services Coalition, the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program, and more. If you or someone you know is experiencing or is at risk of homelessness, please contact us directly to learn more about our services.
The Employment Linkages Program teaches Employment Readiness Skills and extends resources to homeless individuals in Wayne County, which help them find employment and self-sustainability. Support and resources include weekly employment groups, career planning, resume help, interview preparation, job placement, computer usage, mailing service, uniforms, and more.
Wayne Metro offers a variety of programs to ensure you and your family have access to healthy meals and produce. Our programs include the Wayne Metro Snack Wagon, supporting local community gardens, pop-up food pantries, and more — all of which are focused on distributing fresh produce and lunches to those with limited access to nutritional food.
