Wayne Metro understands that our communities are facing unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to respond to the immediate needs of Michigan residents, Wayne Metro is implementing our CARES Relief & Recovery Services. Through this new initiative, residents of Wayne County may qualify for assistance in the following areas:

Food & Income
Support

Distributing food, formula, diapers, wipes & Personal Protection Equipment.

Water & Energy Assistance​

Providing residents with financial assistance towards energy & water utilities.

Rent & Mortgage Assistance

Providing rental assistance & help towards mortgage payments.

Property Tax Assistance

Offering Property Tax Assistance, which can help reduce property taxes.

Emergency
Plumbing Repair

Provide plumbing repairs that will resolve the immediate emergency with access to water services.

Funeral Assistance

Providing financial assistance towards burial and cremation services.

Emergency

How to Get Help

To learn more about which CARES Relief & Recovery Services are available in your community, please call the Wayne Metro CONNECT Center at (313) 388-9799.
You can also click the “” icon in the bottom corner of your screen to chat live with a Service Specialist.

The CONNECT Center hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Transportation Support

In partnership with Uber, Wayne Metro may be able to provide transportation to access these services. Be sure to ask a CONNECT Center Service Specialists for more information!

Partner With Us to Help Your Community!

Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency is seeking partners to provide assistance to Wayne County residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applicants must:

• Be a 501(C)(3) tax exempt, non-profit faith based, community based, or educational organizations
• Certify the organization has not been suspended or debarred, or otherwise excluded from or deemed ineligible for participation in federal assistance programs
• Follow CSPM 800 (attached), CSPM 400 series (attached), CSPM 200 (attached), and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations
• Certify the organization does not have an actual or potential conflict between the business or financial interest of the organization, its services, and employees and their families
• Service Wayne County residents
• Request funds in response to COVID-19

Interested organizations should submit a one (1) page concept paper and budget to grantsmanagement@waynemetro.org. Please use “COVID-19 RFP” in the subject line. Any questions can also be directed to the same email address.
