Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency relies on volunteers to help promote and support programs and services in the community.
Individuals and groups of volunteers are welcome and appreciated! Upon receiving your completed application, a Wayne Metro staff person will match your interests and availability with one of our programs or upcoming events.
The agency has a number of different volunteer opportunities available. New opportunities are posted regularly. Click here to learn about current opportunities. Volunteers will receive a brief orientation that consists of an overview of the agency as well as an on-site orientation that will outline volunteer responsibilities and program information prior to starting the volunteer position.

Become a Community Gardens Volunteer!
Wayne Metro has over 40 Community Gardens throughout Out-Wayne County. These gardens are planted and cared for by churches, schools, nonprofit or civic organizations. All produce harvested from these gardens is donated in local community food pantries that support low-income individuals and families.
Many of our Community Gardens are looking for volunteer help over the growing season. Volunteers may be asked to help plant, weed , water or harvest the garden. Click here to sign up to be a Community Gardnes Volunteer. You will be matched with a Community Garden in your area.
Become a Certified Tax Preparer!
Wayne Metro is currently seeking volunteer tax preparers for the upcoming season. Free training is provided to become a IRS Certified Tax Preparer or Wealth Coach. There are also many other volunteer opportunities at our Free Tax Sites available.
