Foreclosure Intervention Class

 

Wayne Metro's Foreclosure Intervention Assistance Program provides assistance and support to families struggling to keep their home and avoid foreclosure. Classes are led by a MSHDA Certified Housing Counselor and individual foreclosure counseling is also available. There are no fees for counseling or classes. 

 

Foreclosure Awareness Classes are held:

2nd and 4th Wednesdays of Each Month

From Home Garden to Market Garden - Condensed Class

 

This program focuses on turning a home garden into a small business, supplying produce for farm markets and farm stands. The program covers business planning, equipment needed and effective pest and disease management. You will be provided with ideas on what to grow and how to market your produce This program is designed for the home gardener that wants to begin to sell garden produce to the public.

 

What you will learn:

  • The Importance of Record Keeping and Budgeting
  • Equipment needed
  • What to grow
  • Common vegetable pests and diseases
  • Where and how to market your produce

The Homebuyer Club is a class for anyone that is interested in buying a home and wants to learn more about the nuts and bolts of homeownership. This eight hour class is held over two days and covers a variety of topics including the home buying process, budgeting, credit and qualifying for a mortgage. Participation in the Homebuyer Club can make you eligible for a variety of down payment and closing cost assistance programs in many communities throughout Wayne County.
