Wayne Metro has formed a SOutheast Michigan Census Complete Count Committee
Purpose of Committee
The purpose of this committee is to implement an outreach and awareness
campaign to encourage all people to mail back their Census questionnaire.
We need to make sure everyone is counted. For each person who is not
counted, Michigan will lose $11,000 in federal funds over the next ten
years.
Everyone who lives and/or works in SE Michigan has existing resources and
talents that can help ensure a complete count so that the Census provides an accurate picture of our local communities.
We seek additional members who want to see our region thrive again. Everyone has something to add to this committee.
Committee Work
The committee members met on January 14, 2010 and shared ideas that helped expand the sample Census Communications and Marketing plan that can be used by anyone interested in helping with Census outreach and awareness efforts. The plan can be downloaded by clicking here. The plan was updated on January 20, 2010. Each member committee to doing at least one activity to help promote the census.
