"I'm A Michigan Kid!"
Students learn about michigan from author, gary bowers
Students from the Myers Action Institute in Taylor enjoyed a visit from Author Gary Bowers on Tuesday, March 17. Bowers is the author of 10 books, including “I’m A Michigan Kid”, a book in which real kids throughout Michigan take you on a tour of their hometowns. The book shares history, trivia and fun facts about the great state of Michigan.
Bowers entertained many Action Institute families with poetry and facts about Michigan. He also spoke to students about inspiration and finding the write within themselves.
Jan Bowers, his wife, is the illustrator of the beautiful images throughout the book.
Families had an opportunity to eat dinner at the event. Students also took a copy of “I’m A Michigan Kid” Activity Book home with them. There were also prize drawings throughout the night.
Everyone had a great time and learned some interesting facts about the state of Michigan!
