Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency's Head Start Program is currently registering children ages 3-5 for the 2009-2010 school year. Head Start Sites are located in Highland Park, Hamtramck and Harper Woods.
Wayne Metro Head Start is a free pre-school program for children ages 3-5 and their families. The Head Start Program is not just a pre-school program, it's a program for the entire family. Family members are encouraged to get involved in the many opportunities the program provides. Additional services include:
* Family Fun Nights
* Employement and Training
* Parent Involvement
* Leadership Opportunities
* Fatherhood Events
* Free Parent Education
* Family Support Services
* Parent Events
The agency was recognized in June 2009 for providing 10 years of high-quality pre-school education to families residing in Wayne County. The agency serves over 500 chidlren and their families each year through the Head Start Program.
